What is the recommended age for SE Kids Culinary Academy?


SE Kids is for ages 4 to 14+! Younger children will need more parental support while cooking in the kitchen. Older kids and teens will need little to no help. They can independently prepare family meals and sharpen their culinary skills.

What do I get each month?


Each monthly themed kit includes the following: - 3 recipe guides (see a sample) - STEM activities (see a sample) - Kitchen tool (see a sample) - Conversation cards (see a sample) - Shopping list In addition, we provide digital “extras” like recipes, activities, dietary substitutions, music playlist and cooking videos.




Is food included?


Ingredients are not included; however, for your convenience, we email a shopping list (see sample) for each month's recipes before your kit is shipped. Almost all ingredients can be found at your local grocery store.




What type of theme can I expect? Do monthly boxes ever repeat?


Each kit features a new theme every month. Our kit themes do not repeat.




Can I get an extra monthly tool or apron for siblings?


Yes! Sibling tools and aprons may be purchased at checkout. Additional tools are $5/month and kid size aprons are $15. Please note that one SE Kids apron is included in the purchase of a 6 or 12 month membership.




Can I give SE Kids as a gift?


Yes! Simply enter the gift recipient's shipping information, parent's email address, and your personalized gift note at checkout. You can also download and print a gift note to let your recipient know their first kit is on the way. Thanks for gifting SE Kids Culinary Academy!




Do you accommodate for dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc.)


Yes! On every recipe card, we note any gluten free alternatives. Additionally, we post dietary substitutions online for each kit. Simply visit our “Encounter More” page to find ingredient alternatives for vegetarian, egg-free and dairy-free diets.




When and where do boxes ship?


Kits are shipped out monthly. Orders placed by the 20th of the month will receive that month's kit. Orders placed on the 21st and after will receive the next month's kit. Kit will be mailed out by the 25th of each month and should arrive by the 1st week of the month. International shipping is available for an additional $10 USD/month shipping fee. Please allow 3 to 5 business days after shipment for U.S. delivery and 14 business days for international shipping. International delays are possible due to customs. If you do not receive your kit within 3 weeks of receiving the tracking email, please contact our customer service team. PLEASE NOTE: December orders must be placed by December 10th at 6am EST. Signups after this time will begin with Januarys box due to holiday shipping schedule.




What is your cancellation policy?  How do I cancel my auto-renewal?


Our members are auto billed on the anniversary of their renewal date. You may "turn off" your next auto-renewal at any time! Simply log into your account and cancel. Prepaid Plans: Please note, members who subscribe to our 6 or 12 month plans will continue to receive kits until the end of their current prepaid billing period. Refunds are not issued mid-term.




When I try to add accessories to my cart, the subscription plan I selected no longer appears in my cart?


You will have to complete these as two separate transactions. Because the subscription plans auto-renew, they must be purchased as a separate transaction.First, purchase your subscription plan and pay for it. Then, you can shop for accessories such as aprons and cookbooks in a separate transaction.
